Terms of Service
Last updated: March 23, 2026
What this covers
These terms govern your use of the Looom mobile application and the shared report hosting service at share.looom.build. By using Looom, you agree to these terms.
The service
Looom is a construction documentation tool. It stores your data locally on your device. Optional features – shared report links, AI photo analysis, weather capture – use third-party services described in our Privacy Policy.
Your data
You own your data. Your entries, photos, punch items, and project records belong to you. Looom does not claim any rights to your content.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data. Looom stores data on your device – if you delete the app or lose your device without a backup, your data is gone. Use the Export feature in Settings to create backups.
Shared reports
When you create a shared link, report content is uploaded to our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare R2). You control who receives the link, the expiration period, and whether a PIN is required. You can revoke any shared link at any time.
Do not share confidential project information through shared links unless you are authorized to do so. You are responsible for the content you share and who you share it with.
Acceptable use
Use Looom for its intended purpose: documenting construction work. Do not use the shared report hosting service to distribute content unrelated to construction documentation, or to store or share illegal material.
Availability
Core app features work offline and do not depend on our servers. The shared report hosting service is provided on a reasonable-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime for share.looom.build, though we aim to keep it running reliably.
Liability
Looom is provided as-is. We do our best to build reliable software, but we cannot guarantee it will be free of bugs or data loss.
Looom is a documentation tool, not a substitute for professional engineering judgment, building code compliance, or contractual obligations. Reports generated by Looom do not constitute professional inspection reports unless prepared by a qualified professional using Looom as a tool.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Looom and its developers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or shared report service.
AI features
AI photo analysis provides suggested descriptions, tags, and defect identification. These suggestions are generated by a machine learning model and may be inaccurate. Always review AI-generated content before relying on it for project documentation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
